Drobo now has firewire

This is great news for everyone using this device to safely store their files. I can firmly say that the older model Drobo (what I currently use) is a bit slow with its USB 2 connections. When I have to access images that are archived on the Drobo, it was a painful experience. I'll have to look into getting one of these in the fall or early next year to serve as additional backup security for my working and locally stored images, though I still use an online storage facility also for my client work.

Early anniversary on the Spirit of Philadelphia

Who said you can't celebrate your anniversary early? My wife and I decided to take a dinner cruise on the Spirit of Philadelphia and we had a great time. Our five-year anniversary isn't until next month, but it's our 5th! Doesn't that milestone require an anniversary quarter?

As you can see, it was beautiful. The nice sunset on a dinner cruise up and down the Delaware River. I brought along one of my older, retired cameras and my wife had me change my settings so she could take a few shots of me. I like this one.
Of course I had to get a few shots of her in various poses. True to my nature, I had to take a natural shot of her checking emails and calls on her Blackberry. She always asks why I get to pick the images of me and my response is always the same... he holds the key to the images gets to hand them out
;-)
Well, I can't wait for next month when we get to spend some time together on the West Coast. Don't ask me where. My wife loves to plan things so I only gave a couple of suggestions. Then she plans it. I ask when we are leaving and for how long we are staying. I figure I don't need to know all the details as long as we're there together.

Stay posted for those images...

Stacey's Retirement Celebration at the Hotel DuPont

A good mentor and friend of mine had his retirement celebration last week. Everyone was really impressed by the custom cake which the Hotel DuPont's cake chef (I guess that what you would call her) created for him. The level of detail was down to the numbers on the license plate. Because Stacey was a VP, the CEO and other top level managers were there to wish him their best. I was a little further down the line in the hierarchy, but I've always loved the fact that whenever we had a chance to speak, he always had a friendly and even field personality about him.

I guess he will be scheduling the golf dates and listening to some great jazz while enjoying this next step in his life.

Bill and Sharna... Belly Moments

The love...

The joy...

of Belly Moments.

Maternity Session for Bill and Sharna

Bill and Sharna are a great fun and loving couple. Over nine months ago, they decided to expand their love to a new baby who is due later this month. There was no questioning they wanted to express themselves in their maternity session so the Belly Moments life portrait session was a true fit for them. Conveniently set at their home, Bill and Sharna were quickly comfortable with going from the large, plush animal slippers to barefoot on the carpet.

As this is a portion of my photography business I see growing, I was able to offer a bit more session time to cover additional options. A couple hours, laughs, smiles and conversations later, the session ended with me packing up my gear as the couple settled in for a cozy Sunday evening.

Needless to say from the following images, the two had a great time and will have balls of energy and love to shower on the new member of their family. I look forward to capturing some of these moments as they grow through the first year of Stages.
